Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Remove and install flight control surfaces and components
Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and flight control components
Utilize OEM drawing for replacement and Engineering drawings and steps to modify structures and flight controls
Perform rigging and operational test of all flight control surfaces including autopilot
Perform weight and balance including calculation of flight control surfaces
Troubleshoot flight control systems
Conduct operational tests
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements:
· High School education or equivalent and level of skill customarily acquired after 12-18months as an ATS Apprentice; or three years of related commercial / military aircraft experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· FAA Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant license preferred
Ability to read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical functions.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to operate ground support equipment e.g. power carts, Hi-Reach, etc. as required.
May be required to move or lift 25– 50 pounds
This role may require you to balance, bend, climb, crawl, reach, sit, stoop, twist, walk; use their hands, fingers, and arms; talk and hear; and focus on objects up close.
