Where to Look for Aviation Maintenance Scholarships

Originally published · Updated
Editorial guide by AMT Resource Hub

Use current sponsor pages to locate maintenance and avionics scholarship opportunities. A short, relevant shortlist is more useful than a long directory of expired awards.

Begin with specialist organizations

The AEA Educational Foundation offers education and scholarship information for aircraft electronics and maintenance careers. PAMA also provides scholarship resources. Review their current pages rather than assuming that an award, amount, or deadline remains unchanged from an earlier year.

Ask your school about local funding

Financial aid offices and program staff may know institutional awards, local aviation groups, or employer-supported opportunities. Ask whether scholarships can be combined and whether an award affects other assistance. Request current written criteria.

Prioritize applications you can support

Choose awards aligned with your program and experience. Build a calendar with earlier personal deadlines for essays and references. Explain your maintenance interests with specific examples from study, work, or projects, while keeping the application focused on the sponsor’s question.

Your next steps

  • Review current AEA and PAMA information.
  • Ask the school about institution-specific awards.
  • Submit complete, tailored applications.
